But all of that is about to change. We're getting our '07FFL again, and this time, we're also getting an SOT.
Formerly located in Easton, we held an '07FFL and brought you the 10/22 Southpaw, as well as a lineup of Mauser conversions that
could put every round through the same hole at 100 yards for under $500. In 2005, we moved to the Poconos.
Something quite extraordinary has happened at GBI. It's what usually happens when fertile minds are confronted with a
challenge. Don't mind us if we brag a little, as we're actually very proud of our accomplishments. We look forward to adding another engineer
very soon. The other son Philip will be graduating from ERAU in May 2010 and will begin his contributions in the field starting with
new and improved ballistics measurement instrumentation.
- The older son Joshua, BSMechE and MSMechE Lehigh, has been using advanced algorithms in fluid dynamics and FEA to create the world's most
accurate bolt action rifle. Free of all internal stresses during firing, Josh's design combines advanced harmonic barrel tuning with a
completely stress-free receiver to produce a rifle action that fires sub-moa groups at ranges exceeding 1000 yards.
- For the last 4 years, the father & son engineering team of Mike and Josh Kunz, have been reading every piece of literature and every
US and European patent related to Silencers.
- Without a current FFL and SOT, starting in 2005, we had to go about our research by submitting a Form 1 and getting approval, one at a time,
to build each prototype silencer.
- We did the reading and digested it, then the design and mathematical modeling, and when the approved Form 1 arrived, built the prototype silencer and fired
thousands of rounds and performed hundreds of sound measurement tests, using numerous police and military style weapons. We then repeated
this very expensive process four more times, until we were satisfied.
The results are . . . frankly, nothing short of radical.
- The new stress-free bolt action design will leave Accuracy International wondering what just happened and who just zoomed past them.
- GBI's silencer design is so new, so effective, that they will actually be silencers, not just suppressors. The weapon's
mechanical noises will be louder than their report.
- We hold the rights to the intellectual property that has created the only silencer capable of cutting the Navy Department's water-emptying
criteria for amphibous suppressed weapons by almost two thirds !
- And just to make things really interesting, we bought a sawmill and have begun culling the hardwood forest at our home for the
straightest grained hickory, ash, oak, maple, and beech in the Poconos. In September 2007 we began stacking thick slab wood for building
some of the most handsome target rifle stocks we think you will be able to find anywhere. Custom stocks and cuts of wood will become available
for the first time in the spring of 2011.
